چکیده

For this study, 24 Bakhtiari sheep were selected and divided into four age groups: 1-10 days, 5-8 months, 1-2 years and 3 years and more. In each age group, six animals (3 each sex) were used. The specimens of eight different skin regions were collected. They were fixed in 10% formaldehyde solution and processed through routine paraffin embedding, cut at 5-7 μ and stained with H&E, Masson trichrome, Ayoub-Shklar, Verhoeff and Foot’s method for reticulum. Morphometrical studies on these sections were carried out using light microscope and ocular micrometer respectively. Thickness of skin, epidermis and dermis, were measured in all the regions of skin in both sexes. The one-way ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range test were used to analyze the data and detect of significant differences. It was found that the thickness of total skin, epidermis, papillary layer and reticular layer of dermis varied among all the regions and was affected significantly by age and sex. The total skin thickness of different regions in neonate, young, young adult and old adult of Bakhtiari sheep ranged from 1197.81-1912.92, 1028.13-1861.90, 1712.08-2932.62, and 1585.24-2717.45 μ respectively. © 2013 Sjournals. (Co)variance components and genetic parameters for test day ewe body weight of Lori-Bakhtiari sheep were estimated using a random regression model (RRM). The data consisted of 22153 individual body weight records, obtained from 1994 ewes (progeny of 205 sires and 1010 dams) between 371 and 3416 days of age, collected from the flock stud of Lori-Bakhtiari Sheep Breeding Station in Shahrekord, Ir...

Phenotypic and Genetic Analysis of Lori-Bakhtiari Lamb's Weight at Different Ages for Autosomal and Sex-Linked Genetic Effects

The data set used in this study contained 8793 records of lamb's weight (kg) from 320 sires and 2349 dams collected during 1989 to 2014 from the Lori-Bakhtiari flock at Shooli station in Shahrekord, Iran. Non-genetic factors and genetic parameters (partitioned into autosomal, sex-linked and maternal) of lamb's weight at different ages were estimated using without and with sex-linked genetic eff...

The middle ear ossicles are important due to transmission of sound to the inner ear leading to sound understanding. The aim of present study was to determine the anatomical and morphometrical aspects of middle ear ossicles in Makouei sheep fetuses. For this experimental study, eight sheep fetuses at the age of 2 to 3 months were provided from public slaughterhouse; their middle ear ossicles wer...

The aim of this study was to perform molecular and bioinformatics analysis of IGFBP2 gene promoter in association with some economic traits in indigenous Makuee (MS) and Lori-Bakhtiari (LB) breeds. DNA was extracted from blood samples of 120 MS and 200 LB and a 297 bp fragment from the upstream sequences of studied gene was amplified and genotyped by single-strand conformational polymo...
